Weesperplein is a Metro station in the city centre of Amsterdam. It is located between the Nieuwe Achtergracht and Singel canals on the southeastern edge of the Amsterdam canal ring. Weesperplein is a major transfer hub for metro and tram routes. As it is located close to the newly developed Roeterseiland campus of the University of Amsterdam, the destination “Universiteit” (English: University) has been added to automated station announcements on the trains.
