Haarlemmerstraat and the adjoining Haarlemmerdijk together make a long and delightfully varied shopping street. You’ll find gourmet bakeries and quirky clothes shops, books, beads, chocolates and cheese. Along the way are old-fashioned eateries, ethnic restaurants and hip cafés. It’s an up-and-coming area frequented by those in the know, but not yet so fashionable as to spoil the neighbourhood atmosphere.
