The Alida Hoeve cheese farm and clog factory is located in Volendam. Where cows once stood in stables, cheese is now sold. The Alida Hoeve shop offers a wide range of Henri Willig cheeses, gifts and souvenirs.
Of course you can also taste, the employees are happy to advise you! The Alida Hoeve is located near Volendam, which is world famous with its dike and fishing port and should not be missing from your tourist route. Extra nice: the employees are dressed in original Volendam costumes.
Clog maker De Vriendschap
After your reception at the Alida Hoeve, you can visit De Vriendschap Klompenboerderij, right next to the farm. In earlier times, farmers and workers walked on this footwear made of poplar or willow wood. Clog making is a craft that is still highly regarded in the Netherlands; it requires a lot of craftsmanship to cut a clog from a piece of wood. After the demonstration you can admire various decorated clogs in the shop, as well as other souvenirs. Admission is free.
