Infomation

Formerly the world’s greatest trading metropolis, Amsterdam is now an exciting holiday destination. The city looks back on an impressive history, and is characterised by openness, creativity, tolerance and cultural diversity. The holiday apartments are located in a historic building in the heart of the city, amid the canals and the art scene.

Initial holiday impressions of Amsterdam can be ideally gained on a boat trip through the grachten, or canals. The most diverse district is the artists’ quarter of Jordaan. This is where, even today, intellectuals and artists, the country’s Bohemians, live. Browse around unusual shops and quaint galleries in narrow back alleys, where you will certainly come across the odd undiscovered gem. Amsterdam offers many cultural highlights. World famous museums such as the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum will appeal to avid art lovers. Famous people can also be seen at Madame Tussauds, even if only as wax figures. The popular open-air theatres and concerts are an unforgettable experience. The nicest way to explore Amsterdam is by bicycle, cycling along the canals and past the many houseboats. One bank is lined with elm-trees and their overhanging branches, and on the other bank the picturesque terraces of houses are reflected in the water. Would you like to take part in sporting activities, or enjoy nature in the middle of the city? No problem, this is also possible in Amsterdam. In the Vondelpark, activities such as jogging, skating, walking or simply lazing on the grass under the shade of a tree are possible. It’s never far to go home. The holiday apartments are located in two charming buildings directly by the Singel, Amsterdam’s oldest canal. They were built in the 17th century. Incidentally: Each of the 26 apartments is dedicated to a Dutch painter.
